Val Wilmer in Conversation
Photographer Val Wilmer chats to Cerys about photographing blues legends Muddy Waters, Buddy Moss and Aretha Franklin.
This week Cerys' guest is writer, social historian, acclaimed photographer Val Wilmer, who shares stories from her career and photographing blues legends Muddy Waters, Buddy Moss and Aretha Franklin.
In 1956, a 14-year-old Valerie Wilmer took a snap at London Airport of a grinning Louis Armstrong, which spawned a remarkable career that has brought her close up to almost every significant figure in post-war jazz, blues and R&B.
