Tim Wheeler from Ash picks his Rock God
Ash have a brand new album out today - to celebrate, frontman Tim Wheeler reveals his ultimate Rock God!
Back in 1992, a teenage Tim Wheeler was busy trying to get himself a rock band in his native Northern Ireland.
Over 30 years later, it's safe to say he succeeded. Through the 90s and 00's Ash racked up critically acclaimed albums such as '1977' and 'Free All Angels" hitting No.1 here in the UK and earning themselves a place in the hearts of rock fans along the way. They built up one of the best reputations in the business, sold millions of records and they are still going strong in 2023. Their eighth album, βRace The Nightβ is out on the 15th of September.
Tim's Rock God is a true legend, for a myriad of reasons and is the perfect compliment to TIm's musical heritage.
Elsewhere on the show, Alice Cooper pops up to say hello and introduce a track from his latest album, plus Johnnie's got another listener pick for his 'Midnight Finish'. Have you got a rock anthem with a midnight connection that you want Johnnie to play? drop him a line at walker@bbc.co.uk
