Amanda Shires is in session and conversation. She's a Texan singer-songwriter and fiddle player now based in Nashville. Amanda shares the powerful and personal themes behind her seventh solo album, Take It Like A Man, and performs some of the songs acoustically. She talks about the album she recorded with the late Bobbie Nelson, the elder sister of Willie. Amanda formed the Grammy winning supergroup The Highwomen with Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile and Natalie Hemby as a response to American country radio ignoring female artist, and she's also a member of her husband Jason Isbell's band The 400 Unit.
