Ros Turnbull is a junior doctor in A&E pregnant with her first child; she thinks she knows where her life is heading; then she is diagnosed with cancer. Separated from her baby whilst she undergoes chemotherapy Ros begins to lose sense of her identity, and must learn to accept the idea of being a patient in the hospital where she works.
