Josep Pons and the 麻豆约拍 Symphony Orchestra present a Spanish-themed Prom with a French accent. Debussy and Ravel paint Spain in their own distinctive colours: Ravel with the raw heat and insistent thrum of his Bol茅ro and Debussy in the vivid musical vignettes of Ib茅ria. Meanwhile Spanish violinist Mar铆a Due帽as 鈥� a 麻豆约拍 Radio 3 New Generation Artist and winner of the 2021 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition 鈥� is the soloist in 脡douard Lalo鈥檚 most famous work, the Symphonie espagnole, which marks the French Romantic composer鈥檚 200th anniversary. The concert opens in Andalusia, with music from Falla鈥檚 tragic opera La vida breve, set in sun-soaked Granada.
