Cara Dillon, the Kurdish Hurler and a taste of Italy
Cara Dillon looks forward to a homecoming at Stendhal, Kurdish hurler Zak Moradi, an Italian quiz and plenty of cheese.
John is joined by the wonderful Cara Dillon who’s the amongst the headliners at this summer’s Stendhal festival, which will be something of a homecoming. Davide of Velocheese is an Italian cheese maker and former engineer – John joined him on his delivery rounds during the week. There’s more Italian fun with Venetian Federica Ferrieri’s Italian themed quiz while John chats hurling with a legend of the game – who happens to be from Ramadi in Iraq. Joining the show live is Kevin Curran – his new book is based in Balbriggan – and reflects how it’s now the most diverse area of this island. Sophie Dingwall has won the Brian Black Memorial for marine environmental journalism – she’ll chat alongside Brian’s daughter Sarah. Meanwhile chef Paula McIntyre is making grilled lamb steaks with cumin and brown sugar rub alongside blackbean salad and chimichurri sauce.
