The Revd Andrew Sully
A service led by the Revd Andrew Sully, interim head of Christian Aid Wales.
The evening edition of the programme includes My Favourite Hymn.
A service led by the Revd Andrew Sully, Interim Head of Christian Aid Wales, at the start of Christian Aid Week; an annual initiative held each year during the church season of Easter. The charity is just one of a number of international organisations β whether secular or religious β seeking to bring relief and hope to many deprived areas of the world. During this service Andrew Sully focusses on Malawi - one of the worldβs poorest countries. Earlier this year Malawi and neighbouring Mozambique were devasted by Cyclone Freddy; the lives of half a million people were disrupted and many hundreds lost their lives. As Malawi recovers we hear about the importance of the pigeon pea β a tough crop that has brought hope and transformed the lives of some the countryβs farmers.
Biblical readings include Jesusβs parable of the mustard seed as told in Matthewβs Gospel chapter 13. As well as music from Malawi, hymns include βThe kingdom of God is justice and joyβ, βFor the fruits of his creationβ and All my hope on God is foundedβ.
