Everything But the Girl news and a White Stripes Vinyl Revival

Jo plays her first pick from this week’s Vinyl Revival - Elephant by the White Stripes.

Formed in Detroit in 1997, the White Stripes rose to fame in the early 2000s. Despite having previously been married, Jack and Meg White chose to portray themselves as brother and sister.

Elephant was the fourth album from the pair, featuring the singles Seven Nation Army, There’s No Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ For You Here, The Hardest Button to Button and I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself, the latter of which was recorded at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Maida Vale studios.

Released in April 2003, the album won the White Stripes their first and second Grammys - a collection that would grow to a total of six in the coming years.

To celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary, Jo will be picking a different track from the original vinyl to play each night this week.
