The Talking Movies team are in Berlin to report on highlights from one of the world's top international film festivals. With the first anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine taking place in the midst of the festival, there are several special films and events relating to the war.

Hollywood actor Sean Penn, who has co-directed an eagerly awaited documentary portrait of President Zelensky, will be participating in a planned interview with Talking Movies presenter Tom Brook. Also, the celebrated Luxembourgish-German actress Vicky Krieps, who delivered a celebrated turn in the 2022 historical drama Corsage, is scheduled to sit down with reporter Emma Jones to discuss her career triumphs and her new role as an Austrian feminist writer in the movie Ingeborg Bachmann - Journey into the Desert.

There will also be a report on Steven Spielberg being honoured at the festival with a lifetime achievement award, and Todd Field, the director of the Oscar-nominated TΓ΅r, which stars Cate Blanchett, will explain why he wanted to shoot his film in Berlin.
