Tunes, chat and Radiohead’s Philip Selway

Radiohead’s Philip Selway joins Mark and Stuart to share his 'First, Last and Everything' and chat about his new solo album.

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.

Today, musician, songwriter and Radiohead drummer Philip Selway joins Mark and Stuart to share his 'First, Last and Everything' - that’s the first record he owned, the most recent one he’s enjoyed and the record that means β€˜everything’ to him.

Philip also talks about his brand new solo album β€˜Strange Dance’, released this month. The songs on the album were written by Philip at home on piano and guitar, and features a number of collaborations with artists including Hannah Peel, Adrian Utley and Laura Moody. Despite his global reputation as a drummer, having played in Radiohead for decades, Philip took the decision not to play drums on his own album. Instead he enlisted Valentina Magaletti to provide the record’s drums and percussion.

Also on the show... long-running feature β€˜The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.

With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
