Noluthando takes a trip down memory lane, and Alice gets some tough love.
Alice meets up with her buddy Lisa, apologising for not being in touch over the past few weeks. She tearfully admits everything’s been getting on top of her. Lisa counsels that at times like this, Alice needs to avoid getting into a cycle of self-pity. Lisa’s not denying it’s tough for Alice, but her job is to help Alice stay sober. When Alice reveals that she hasn’t been going to her meetings recently, Lisa reminds Alice not to take her foot off the pedal. Alice needs to put staying sober back at the centre of things. She should be grateful for her sobriety and the time Alice got back with Jennifer. Jennifer died knowing that Alice was going to be alright.
Brian and Noluthando go for a walk to Arkwright Hall. They reminisce about Brian and Jennifer’s wedding. When Noluthando says Brian really loved Jennifer, he agrees but says there were times when he could’ve shown it more. When Brian asks Noluthando whether she misses Khayone, she admits to missing the fun times they had. Brian thinks she’s well rid of him. Noluthando agrees but says it still hurts. When Brian notices messages from Alice, Kate and Adam about the funeral, he’s cross at being hassled by them. Later, when Alice asks him for some decisions, Brian says to tell the undertakers he doesn’t want a coffin, or flowers, or booklets, or hymns. There won’t be a funeral.
