Jo chats to Gorillaz co founder Damon Albarn about tomorrow’s release of the new Gorillaz album Cracker Island.

Virtual band Gorillaz is singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs. Created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett in 1998, the Gorillaz released their eponymous debut album in 2001, followed subsequently by Demon Days (2005), Plastic Beach (2010), The Fall (2011), Humanz (2017) The Now Now (2018) and Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez (2020).

With six top ten albums, a Brit Award and a Grammy, the band are recognised by The Guinness Book Of World Records as the planet’s Most Successful Virtual Act.

Ahead of Cracker Island's release tomorrow, Damon will be chatting to Jo about his process, influences and journey, as well as picking some of favourite artists to play us as well!
