Suzanne Vega - the voice behind Luka, Marlene on the Wall and Tom's Diner - performs live from Maida Vale alongside the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra, with her set including a Blondie cover.
With a career spanning almost 40 years, Suzanne is a hugely respected artist both in her native America and around the world. Known as the voice behind Luka, Marlene on the Wall and Tom's Diner, Suzanne has released nine studio albums in total, plus the recent live album An Evening of New York Songs and Stories.
This year Suzanne is undertaking a huge US and European tour, with UK dates in February and March.
Radio 2 Piano Room Month sees an abundance of world famous award-winning artists gather to perform exclusively with the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra, and each artist will be performing three tracks - a new song, one of their well-known tracks, and a classic cover version from another artist - with members of the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra accompanying.
Plus, Belle & Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch chooses his Tracks of My Years. Formed in the mid-90s, the idea behind the group was to stay on a small scale, to keep it as a project and not let the band run their lives; planning to release two albums and break up.
Instead they have delivered multiple classic albums over the years including like If You're Feeling Sinister and The Boy with the Arab Strap, and latest LP Late Developers - a recent Radio 2 Album of the Week - has given us new single I Donβt Know What You See in Me.
Stuart's penultimate choices are from The Associates and Michael Kiwanuka.
