Watty Grahams An Ghleanna ar an bhealach go Páirc Uí Chrócaigh, Máistrí Snúcair.
Watty Grahams (Glen) on their way to Croker, the snooker Masters.
Bhí ceiliúradh ann i gceantar Mhachaire Rátha, Contae Dhoire, ag an deireadh seachtaine tar éis do chlub Watty Grahams An Ghleanna áit a bhaint amach i gcluiche ceannais clubanna na hÉireann i bpeil shinsir na bhfear. Is in éadan Chill Mhochuda Na Crócaigh as Baile Átha Cliath a bheidh siad ag imirt. Tá an dá chluiche leathcheannais á bplé ag Seán Ó Gallachóir agus Marcus Ó Buachalla, agus caitear súil fosta ar chomórtais Chorn Mhic Ruairí agus Chorn Mhic Cionnaith. Agus scothimreoirí an snúcair ag cur tús le comórtas na Máistrí i Londain, tá an comórtas faoi scáil i mbliana de bharr líomhaintí cúblála cluichí sa spórt agus deichniúr imreoirí ar fionraí – beirt acu a bhí le bheith ag imirt sa chomórtas seo. Pléann Ruth McAvinia an scéal.
There was jubilation in Maghera, County Derry this weekend as the Watty Grahams (Glen) club claimed their place in an all-Ireland final in men’s senior football. They will face last year’s runners up, Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin. Both semi-finals are discussed by Seán Ó Gallachóir and Marcus ó Buachalla, and Seán also casts his eye over this year’s McRory Cup and McKenna Cup. As the world’s top snooker players assemble in London to begin the Masters, the competition has been overshadowed somewhat by match-fixing allegations and the suspension of ten players – two of whom were due to play in this competition. Ruth McAvinia discusses.
