Does Brad have the winning formula? Kenton offers brotherly advice.

Chelsea and Brad are despondent as Jazzer’s plan to propose to Tracy this evening looks all set to happen. Brad thinks the only thing left is to convince their mum not to propose. Then she won’t be disappointed she didn’t get her chance when Jazzer gets there first. The siblings tell Tracy they’re no longer sure marrying Jazzer’s a good idea – ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’. Tracy sees their point and agrees to hold off.
Chelsea and Brad are eager to know what’s Jazzer’s ideas are for proposing later. They’re shocked to hear that Jazzer’s been giving what they said earlier in the week some thought and has decided not to propose after all. Chelsea and Brad try to back pedal but to no avail.
David and Kenton reflect on Christmas without Shula, and how they both appreciate the presence of their mum. David confides things aren’t great between him and Ruth. Kenton invites him to The Bull later to chat more. At the bar, David explains how he and Ruth just end up rowing every time they talk about Ben and his mental health. Kenton listens supportively as David opens up about feeling left out of conversations between Ben and Ruth. Kenton advises David to cut himself some slack. The tension between him and Ruth will – he and Jolene have some fearsome rows and then make up. But this doesn’t put David at ease. He points out his and Ruth’s marriage isn’t like that, and right now they’re arguing when they should be focussed on Ben.
