MOBO winners and nominees help Ace explore the impact the MOBO Awards have had over the last 25 years.

As a kid, Craig David used to dream about going to the MOBO Awards. He’s now won six of them over an amazing 17 year period and talks to Ace about what it’s meant for his career.

Craig David is one of the UK’s most successful black artists with 15 million album sales to his name. His first wins were in the year 2000, when he was nominated alongside some of his idols and won. But it wasn’t smooth sailing from then on; in 2001 he won Best UK Male but struggled to gain recognition from other parts of the music industry and opens up about the barriers he faced at that time. In 2016 he made an incredible return to the MOBO Awards, winning Best Male. He breaks down how the UK scene has changed since those first wins and reflects on the part he’s played in making that happen.
