Rebecca Ní Dhonnaile

Scannáin, Turas chun an Antartaigh, Hilary Bowen-Walsh.

Fógraíodh ar na mallaibh na buaiteoirí de Gradam Gaeilge Iontaobhas Stewart Parker/Â鶹ԼÅÄ, gradam a aithníonn agus a spreagann scríbhneoireacht i nGaeilge don ardán, agus duine de na comhbhuaiteoirí ná Hilary Bowen-Walsh as Contae Shligigh. Tá sí linn le labhairt faoina gairm amharclannaíochta, mar aisteoir, stiúrthóir agus scríbhneoir, agus faoi na pleananna atá aici don todhchaí. Buaileann an stiúrthóir Damian McCann isteach le súil siar a chaitheamh ar scannáin na bliana agus le hamharc chun tosaigh go dtí nua-eisiúintí na bliana seo chugainn. Agus labhraíonn muid le hAoibh, Feirsteach óg sé bliana déag d’aois atá i ndiaidh coicís a chaitheamh san Antartach mar chuid de thuras speisialta leis an charthanacht We Two, a chothaíonn deiseanna eachtraíochta do dhaoine óga – labhraíonn sí le Rebecca faoi bhuaicphointí an turais di.

The winners of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Stewart Parker Irish Language Award, which recognises and encourage writers with potential in writing drama in the Irish language, were announced recently and one of the joint winners was Sligo’s Hilary Bowen-Walsh. She joins us to talk about the theatrical profession, her work as an actor, director and writer, and her plans for the future. Director Damian McCann looks back on the year’s highlights in film and ahead to next year’s new releases. And 16-year-old Aoibh is just back from a fortnight in the Antarctic as part of an expedition with the charity We Two, who provide young people with opportunities for adventure – she talks to Rebecca about her highlights of the trip.
