Science Live Lesson - Frozen Planet II

Live Lessons teams up with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ1's Frozen Planet II to explore the coldest places on earth and the impact of climate change on the icy habitat of harp seal pups.

Live Lessons teams up with the makers of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One’s Frozen Planet II to explore the coldest places on earth and learn about one of the amazing animals that lives there, the harp seal.

Presenter Naomi Wilkinson and expert biologist and explorer Lizzie Daly board Britain's first polar research ship, RRS Discovery in Dundee, to host this very cool Arctic Live Lesson.

Learning about how harp seal pups stay warm in the freezing temperatures of the Arctic and how their icy habitat is being affected by climate change.

Plus the fantastic work of scientists, explorers and filmmakers helping to protect the frozen world. Naomi and Lizzie are joined by research scientist Dr James Grecian from Frozen Planet II.

This programme for primary schools is designed as a follow-up to the six-part Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One series presented by Sir David Attenborough. It aims to inspire pupils to keep learning about our natural world and the work of scientists and modern-day polar explorers.
