Proper Football with Sven-Göran Eriksson

Sven-Göran Eriksson joins Kammy and Ben to look back on his two World Cups in charge of England. He recalls upsetting Fergie, the chaos around David Beckham and his biggest error.

First half good, second half…even better! Kammy and Ben are joined by former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson for a trip back in time as he recalls taking charge of the Three Lions at the 2002 and 2006 men’s World Cups.

What does Sven say was his biggest mistake? Should he have been more like Winston Churchill at half-time against Brazil? What did Sir Alex Ferguson say (shout) when Sven told him he was taking an injured Wayne Rooney to Germany? Did inter-club rivalries hinder the side? And were the WAGS really one of the reasons for England’s failure to win in 2006?

Sven also gives his verdict on England’s chances in Qatar, states who he thinks is their key man for success and explains why he believes the tournament should never have been held there.

Also in this episode: how David Beckham was too big even for Real Madrid’s Galácticos, the England’s squad reaction when the tabloids splashed on Sven’s private life and what advice should you give a defender when a prime Diego Maradona is absolutely ruining him?
