In 1963, David was heading towards media superstardom as the presenter of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV's ground-breaking satire series, That Was The Week That Was.

Famously covering the Profumo Affair, it was devised by Ned Sherrin, with regulars including Bernard Levin, Willie Rushton, Millicent Martin and Roy Kinnear.

David's career spanned journalism and comedy writing - from The Frost Report to Frost on Sunday and TV-AM. He garnered international attention with his revealing interview with former US President Richard Nixon in 1977.

He was knighted in 1993.
