Nikki Bedi travels to Istanbul in Turkey to immerse herself in arts and culture at the 17th Istanbul Biennial. Artists from around the world join Turkish artists to collaborate across the city for two months of vivid performances and mind-blowing installations. From giant puppets to hammocks, Nikki discovers it's a festival of arts and culture like no other. Along the way she visits a renovated Ottoman bathhouse to experience the deeply personal work of Bougainville artist Taloi Havini, meets the Turner prize nominated art collective Cooking Sections at their inaugural water buffalo festival and goes underground in a recently discovered city tunnel to experience a surreal sound installation from Spanish artist Carlos Casas. Nikki also visits the home of legendary Turkish artist FΓΌsun Onur to discuss her role in laying the foundation for Turkey's next generation of artists and takes part in a very special flag waving ceremony from Indonesian artist and activist Arahmaiani.
