At this time of year many Christian communities decorate their churches with farm produce, fruit and veg as they celebrate the Harvest; an occasion – whatever the yield - to give thanks for the fruits of God’s creation. As we too celebrate the Harvest, Menna Machreth finds some appropriate resonances as far as personal faith is concerned; there’s a difference between being productive, and being fruitful.

Bible readings are taken from Luke 17 vs 5-10, and Philippians 2 vs 3 – 11. Hymns include β€œWe plough the fields and scatter”, β€œCome ye thankful people come” and β€œHow great thou art”.
