The Nightfly
Grant celebrates the work of Donald Fagen, as his masterpiece The Nightfly turns 40, and delves deep into one of George Michaelβs greatest albums.
This week on Grant Stottβs Vinyl Collective: Paul Jones, former lead singer of Manfred Mann and voice behind hits like Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Sha La La, and Pretty Flamingo, chooses a favourite record from his collection.
George Michaelβs legendary album Older spent three weeks at Number 1 in the UK in 1996, and spawned 6 singles; on the day the album is reissued, Grant will be delving deep into it and spinning some classic tracks.
And, as Donald Fagen's solo masterpiece βThe Nightflyβ turns 40 this weekend, heβll be marking the occasion with some deep cuts.
All that, plus the Top 10 albums this week in 1980 and music on vinyl from The Beatles, Kate Bush, Japan, Earth, Wind and Fire⦠and more.
