PopMaster and Susie Dent

Lexicographer, etymologist, author and Countdown star Susie Dent picks her Tracks Of My Years this week. Plus there's the Love Song and PopMaster at 10:30.

Lexicographer, etymologist and TV Presenter Susie Dent picks her Tracks Of My Years all this week.

Best known as the resident adjudicator on Countdown's Dictionary Corner, Susie has also been on almost every programme about words including '15 x 15', 'Word of Mouth', 'More or Less', and is a regular panellist on Radio 4’s 'Wordaholics'.

Susie has written multiple books including 'Word Perfect: Etymological Entertainment for Every Day of the Year', 'Dent's Modern Tribes: The Secret Languages of Britain' and 'What Made The Crocodile Cry?: 101 Questions About The English Language'. She also writes a weekly column for the Radio Times, reviews for The Spectator and has over one million followers on Twitter

In 2019, she launched the podcast 'Something Rhymes With Purple', co-hosted with Gyles Brandreth, where they discuss everything from the history of swear words to the etymology of archaeology. It quickly became a firm favourite, winning the Gold Award for Best Entertainment Podcast at the British Podcast Awards 2020.

After a successful debut stage tour, the award-winning podcast will once again head out for a live podcast experience, this time hosting a special monthly residency at London’s Fortune Theatre.

Susie's penultimate choices come from Keane and Pink Floyd.

Plus Ken's got another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the brand new record and album of the week. If you want to contact the show, just email ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk.
