Clare Grogan's final Tracks of My Years
Clare Grogan from Altered Images chooses her Tracks of My Years all this week with Ken. Plus there's The Love Song, the latest Record and Album of The Week, and PopMaster at 1030.
Actor and singer Clare Grogan - perhaps best known for the film Gregory's Girl and being the lead singer with the new wave/post-punk band Altered Images - picks her final two Tracks of My Years.
Altered Images found success in the early 1980βs with a string of hit singles such as "Happy Birthday", "I Could Be Happy", "See Those Eyes", and "Don't Talk to Me About Love", as well as three hit albums AND the Best New Act prize at the 1983 NME Awards.
The group have been touring on-and-off for the past two decades, most recently returning to arenas as guests of The Human League. Now in 2022 - and with contributions from Bernard Butler and Glasgow pop contemporary Bobby Bluebell - a new album entitled Mascara Streakz is being readied for release, their first in nearly 40 years.
But Clare hasnβt been twiddling her thumbs over the years, having continued acting in the likes of Red Dwarf, Eastenders and Skins; presenting a variety of TV and radio shows and writing children's books.
Altered Images will be heading out on a UK tour in September, playing Paisley, Nottingham, Bristol, Brighton, Leeds and Glasgow.
Clareβs final two choices come from Lizzo and Billie Holiday.
Plus Ken's got another round of the legendary PopMaster music quiz and your dedications with today's love song. There's also the record and album of the week. If you want to contact the show, just email - ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk
