Lucy Porter

Rev Kate Bottley is joined by comedian, actress, writer and podcaster Lucy Porter, to chat about her new Edinburgh show Wake-Up Call.

Reverend Kate Bottley presents uplifting stories about life, love and modern spirituality, alongside a great soundtrack for your Sunday morning.

Her guest this morning is comedian, actress, writer and podcaster Lucy Porter, who tells Kate all about her new Edinburgh show, Wake-Up Call. Taking inspiration from the unwanted wake up calls we all receive in life, the show talks about anxiety, grief, love, loss, shame and regret. Lucy also shares her love for the Edinburgh Fringe and how much she's missed it the last two years and also tells Kate about her passion for quizzing and recent acting stint in Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ1’s EastEnders.

Also, author Suresh Singh, joins to discuss his book A Modest Living, Memoirs Of A Cockney Sikh, which centres around Suresh, the youngest son, and his relationship with his father. Suresh tells the story of his family who lived in their house in Princelet St, Spitalfields for nearly seventy years. He reflects on his faith, childhood memories, his own observations of the local area and becoming the first Punjabi punk, playing drums for Spizzenergi and touring with Siouxsie and the Banshees.
