Cat and Edith meet drag queens Courtney Act and Vanity. The pair met in an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Sydney where Vanity thought Courtney was a pretty lesbian. Courtney had admired Vanity for a while as one of the ‘it girls’ on the drag scene.

During their 22 years of friendship, they have lived on opposite sides of the world, shared (and sometimes stolen) each other’s wigs, created their own shows together and more recently began a podcast all about their friendship.

One of the things they have in common is a similar view on their gender. Courtney recalls a phone call with Vanity where she thought she was going to come out as transgender, but with the help of her best friend, she navigated a difficult time in her life to work out who she truly was.
