Bristol - Two years after Colston toppling

Is Bristol the home of rebellion? Richie and Swarzy head to Saint Pauls to find out. @1Xtra on social

Bristol has embodied the spirit of rebellion for many years, particularly in the area of race.

An epicentre of youth culture, the home of drum & bass and a thriving and passionate student fraternity. From the Bristol Bus Boycott of 1963, to the much reported removal of the prominently placed statue of former enslavement trader Edward Colston two years ago, the spirit of fight, protest and expression are omnipresent.

We visit St Pauls, in the heart of Bristol’s black community and arguably UK’s campaigning capital, to find out what Bristolians are feeling two years on from one of the most iconic episodes in race relations of the 21st century.
