Stroud Farmers’ Market
Livestock farmers Luke and Rebecca and fruit growers Helen and David rely on selling at Stroud Farmers’ Market. It’s full-on for five hours to secure a successful day’s takings.
Wiltshire farmers Rebecca and Luke rear their cattle, sheep and pigs with the help of their four children. Always aiming to farm as sustainably as they can, selling their award-winning meat at Stroud Farmers’ Market in Gloucestershire is a vital source of income. It’s a long day, but Luke hopes his barbecued burgers and sausages will be hot favourites with hungry customers. Meanwhile, their daughter Esme is on the charm offensive, determined to do her family proud and pocket as many cold meat sales as she can.
Self-taught fruit farmers Helen and David have been selling at Stroud for over 20 years. They have ploughed all their efforts into growing over 250 rare fruit varieties in their Gloucestershire orchard. They pick over 40 tonnes of apples each year, which they sell fresh and bottled as juice and homemade cider. Both families rely on Stroud’s weekly farmers’ market for their livelihood, and it’s full-on for five hours to secure a successful day’s takings.
