Jamie hears about a major new competition for musicians in Scotland and shares some of the award winners from this year’s ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Music Magazine awards. Shostakovich and Scottish composer Ronald Stevenson feature in the Album of the Week, alongside new music releases from pianist composer Alexis Ffrench, the Chiaroscuro Quartet and Oliver Davis. Plus composer David Fennessy joins Gareth Williams for the first in a new series of Future Classics Extra, a deep dive into the music of living composers.
