And Prices are rising at their fastest rate for 40 years. UK inflation jumped to 9% in the 12 months to April, up from 7% in March. Last October it was just over 4%. That was when the extra 拢20 a week in universal credit was withdrawn by the Government.
The charity Action for Children, that help families in financial difficulty have found that in the six months since the 拢20 reduction, more than half of the grants they've issued were for families on Universal Credit. We hear from a mum of two, struggling to get by...
