Scott Mills sits in with Mimi Webb choosing Tracks of My Years
Mimi Webb, one of the UK's hottest new singer-songwriters and already big in the US, chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Scott. Plus there's PopMaster at 10.30.
Mimi Webb - top 3 in this year's ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Sound Of...poll for emerging musical talent and already big in the U.S. - chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Scott.
Born in Canterbury, Mimi is best known for her singles 'Before I Go', 'Good Without' and 'House Of Fire', with the latter two both going top 10. In October last year she released her debut EP 'Seven Shades of Heartbreak' - another top ten for the rising star. Mimi has already enjoyed sold-out live shows across the UK and North America, and stateside she's appeared on talk shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon and Ellen DeGeneres, and even had her own billboard in New York's Times Square.
Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Emeli Sande and Sam Smith, Mimi started writing her own songs at the age of 13. Three years later she left home, and attended the prestigious British Institute of Modern Music in Brighton. In 2019 she uploaded a handful of early compositions and collaborations online, landed a record deal and has gone from strength to strength since then. She's one of a clutch of new popstars who have really embraced Tik Tok as a way of connecting with their fans, and her impromptu videos garnered over 20 million views on the platform, as well as earning famous fans including Lewis Capaldi and Tom Grennan.
The next two tracks Mimi has chosen come from Harry Styles and Glass Animals. Scott also has your daily love song dedications plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch email Scott.Mills@bbc.co.uk
