Scott Mills sits in with Sigrid choosing Tracks of My Years

Sigrid - Norwegian popstar and former 'Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sound Of...' winner - chooses the Tracks of My Years. Scott has more of your love song dedications plus another round of PopMaster.

Sigrid - Norwegian popstar and former 'Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sound Of...' winner - chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Scott. At the age of 16 Sigrid wrote her first song 'Sun' after her brother, also a musician, told her to stop performing cover versions of Adele and challenged her to write a song that she could perform at one of his gigs. She then released 'Sun' as her debut single and it received airplay on Norwegian radio stations. In 2019 she released her first album 'Sucker Punch' which reached number four in the UK album chart.

Sigrid rose to international prominence after the release of her hit "Don't Kill My Vibe" in February 2017 and winning the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Music Sound of 2018 award in January 2018.

Off the back of winning Best Collaboration at the NME Awards 2022 for her hit 'Head on Fire' with Brits Rising Star winner Griff, Sigrid has released a brand new single ' 'It Gets Dark'. It's taken from her forthcoming second album 'How To Let Go' which is due out next month.

Sigrid has a busy summer ahead of her performing at different festivals in the UK including Glastonbury and the Isle of Wight. She goes on a UK and Ireland tour later in the year starting in Liverpool and culminating in Dublin on 24 November.

The next two tracks Sigrid has chosen come from Coldplay and The Kooks. Scott also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus PopMater. If you'd like to get in touch please email Scott.Mills@bbc.co.uk
