Episode 1
Series following old friends Cormac Ó hÁdhmaill and Antaine Ó Donnaile on an epic kayaking adventure on the Erne. It is challenging, inspiring and more than 100 miles long.
Tá an bheirt seanchairde Antaine Ó Donnaile agus Cormac Ó hÁdhmaill ag tabhairt faoi mhór-eachtra eipiciúil cadhcála ar Abhainn na hÉirne. Bíonn constaicí gan choinne agus sruthanna contúirteacha ann, ach bíonn deis ann fosta cuairt a thabhairt ar shéadchomharthaí ársa ag Loch Gamhna agus breathnú ar athchóiriú mórthaibhseach ar an mhainéar Seoirseach, Teach an Leasa Mhóir, i sráidbhaile stairiúil Cros Domhnaigh.
Ar bhualadh le baill ó Chomhaltas Chill na Seanrátha dóibh, baineann Antaine agus Cormac sult as ceol traidisiúnta i dtimpeallacht ar leith sa tseanséipéal ar an bhaile.
Is é an dúshlán deiridh atá rompu ná máistreacht a fháil ar rud nár thriall ceachtar acu riamh roimhe… clárchéaslóireacht… agus faigheann siad amach nach bhfuil sé chomh furasta agus a cheap siad! Críochnaíonn an chéad chuid dá dturas ar Loch Éirne Uachtair agus iad ag socrú isteach don oíche faoi na réaltaí ar oileán de chuid Phobal Hare Krishna, Inis Rátha.
Old friends Antaine Ó Donnaile and Cormac Ó hÁdhmaill undertake an epic kayaking adventure on the River Erne. The start of their journey brings unexpected obstacles and fast-flowing currents, but also the opportunity to visit ancient monuments at Lough Gowna and to see the meticulous restoration of a Georgian manor, Lismore House, in the historic village of Crossdoney.
Joining members of the Killashandra Comhaltas group, Antaine and Cormac enjoy some traditional music in the surroundings of the town’s ancient church. They spend the night at the ruins of Trinity Island’s monastery and find out how history and religion go hand in hand on many of the area’s islands.
After paddling through the strategically important town of Belturbet, the friends take on their final challenge to master something neither of them has attempted before - paddle boarding - and they discover it isn’t as easy as it looks! The first leg of their journey ends on Upper Lough Erne as they settle in for another night under the stars on an island belonging to the Hare Krishna community, Inish Rath.
