The Spirit of Antenociticus

A stretch of Hadrian’s Wall was discovered in 2017 outside the Mining Institute in Newcastle. Poet Jake Morris-Campbell evokes the spirit of local god Antenociticus.

Award-winning composer and sound artist Rob Mackay recorded texture and sounds at five locations where remains of Hadrian’s Wall can be found in Newcastle. A rich audio landscape complemented by the words of writers and poets as they respond to The Sounds of Tyne.
