George Webster chooses the Tracks of My Years
The actor George Webster - who was recently introduced by CBeebies as their first presenter with Down's Syndrome - picks the Tracks of My Years. Plus another edition of PopMaster.
The actor George Webster - who was recently introduced by CBeebies as their first presenter with Down's Syndrome -chooses Tracks Of My Years all week. George was talent-scouted by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ from his work as an ambassador for Mencap, the charity for people with learning disabilities. Earlier this year he was asked to record a myth-busting video for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Bitesize in which he dispelled some of the common misconceptions about people with Down's Syndrome. He began it by saying: 'I call myself George because that's who I am. Not Down's George'.
George first got into the performing arts when he was eight at a mainstream theatre and music school where he studied for 11 years. He developed a love for dance while he was there as well and hopes one day to perform on Strictly.
His first screen work was as an extra in the ITV soap Emmerdale. Earlier this year he shot a Sci-Fi film entitled BEBE A.I, co-starring Bethany Asher and Amanda Abbington and is also part of a dance troupe called the Talent Hub starring people with a learning disability and autism.
George is also an ambassador for Parkrun and acted in a short film called S.A.M. starring as a young gay man who has a crush on the local misfit. This Easter he is going to be part of a big special on CBeebies alongside his idol, Mr Tumble, called 'Mr Tumble's Busy Bus Day'.
The first two tracks George has chosen come from The Ramones and Queen. Ken also has your love song dedications plus another round of the PopMaster music quiz. If you'd like to get in touch email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
