From Derry to the South Pole, Green Tourism, and Tales of Nature in Armagh
The story of the Derry doctor who travelled to the South Pole with Ernest Shackleton, and an exhibition in Armagh celebrates ancient forests in Ireland.
The incredible story of James Archibald McIlroy, the Maiden City doctor who ended up travelling with Ernest Shackleton on the 1914 ill-fated expedition to the South Pole. An exhibition celebrating the ancient forests of Ireland has opened in Armagh, and Ards and North Down Sustainable Giants tell us the need to be green and sustainable to protect our planet is increasing.
Also on the programme: a Coleraine journalist who decided to walk 280km to raise funds for a charity is about to complete his marathon, and Anne Marie speaks to our bird expert Dot Blakely.
