Music, chat and Gabrielle Drake on 50 years of Pink Moon
Mark Radcliffe presents a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast, and is joined by Gabrielle Drake to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nick Drake's album Pink Moon.
Mark Radcliffe presents a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.
Today, he celebrates the 50th anniversary of Nick Drake's album Pink Moon and chats to Nick's sister, actress Gabrielle Drake. Pink Moon was released on 25th February 1972 and was Drake's third and final album, following 1969's 'Five Leaves Left' and 1971's 'Bryter Layter'. The album is noted for being Drake's most stripped down and starkest. Unlike his previous albums, it features just Drake's voice, his guitar and one piano solo. Mark plays a selection of his favourite tracks from the album and discusses the album's impact and legacy with Gabrielle.
Plus long-running feature ‘The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.
There’s also the chance to take part in ‘Tea Time Theme Time’, guessing the link between three top tunes.
Plus a finely balanced blend of new and old music, setting you up for a Sunday.
