Seoid na Callainn – Seoid Lang Syne

Tha clàr-bìdh sònraichte aig na Seòid airson na Bliadhn’ Ùir. The coves cook up a New Year storm. Will a ghostly visitor inspire their New Year menu?

They saved the Christmas menu but now the mysterious bearded bodach challenges the Kitchen Coves to put some of the old back into the New Year celebrations and serve up tradition with a twist. Spooked and inspired by turn, the coves get to work.

Ruaraidh prepares tasty salt cod scones with squat lobster, a venison pie and a sumptuous chocolate cake. Uisdean starts with a traditional “Duff” or clootie dumpling and takes inspiration from times gone by salting and curing mutton, with which he makes a mutton and potato soup, followed by an unusual but extremely tasty deep fried pizza. And who needs a straight dram when the cocktail-mixing Hebridean Baker joins the ceilidh.
