Angus Young from AC/DC
Angus Young, legendary guitarist with AC/DC, picks his Rock God. Plus Johnnie remembers one of the punk rock greats for 'This Week In Rock'.
Angus Young needs little introduction. He is simply the man who can rock a riff like no other. With his late brother, Malcolm, he founded one of the most successful bands ever; don't forget AC/DC's 'Back In Black' is the second best selling album ever, a fraction behind Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.
AC/DC's latest album, 'Power Up' came at the end of 2020 and topped the charts around the world. It's now up for Best Rock Album at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles next month.
It's perhaps fitting that Angus has chosen a Rock God who really formed the bedrock of the guitar playing we know and love today.
Elsewhere on the show, expect a festive tune or two with a rock twist and a couple of messages from rockers synonymous with the Christmas season.
Johnnie also remembers one of the most celebrated punk rock troubadours for 'This Week In Rock', with a fantastic piece of archive interview featuring a suitably enthused Mark Radcliffe.
