Jon Snow: A Lifetime in News
The Channel 4 News presenter on politicians, impartiality and a flight with Idi Amin.
Jon Snow is the longest-running presenter of Channel 4 News and one of the most famous faces in broadcasting. Over the course of three decades, he has grilled every prime minister from Margaret Thatcher to Theresa May. He drew the iconic words βLet bygones be bygonesβ from Nelson Mandela, shared a plane with Idi Amin, and reported on wars in Iran and crises in Vietnam.
But he has also been accused of being partisan, of having political views that were too obvious β and which undermine the networkβs impartiality. And so, at a time when the future of Channel 4 is up for grabs, his words have come under unprecedented scrutiny.
