How people of faith are portrayed in TV and film; a music project in Craigmillar building confidence and connections; the themes of loss and love explored in the film Petite Maman

A new exhibition inspired by the Scottish artist, George Wyllie, creator of the Clyde Clock outside Buchanan bus station, opens this month in Glasgow. His daughter Louise Wyllie, and artist Willie Sutherland join Connie to describe the showcase, described by Willie as β€˜a love letter to George’.

Bob Dickson reports on a project bringing the Scottish Chamber Orchestra into Niddrie Mill Primary School in Craigmillar, Edinburgh, and how music can build confidence and community connections.

Connie explores some of the ways people of faith, particularly ministers, priests, and vicars, are represented on the small screen. Reverend Canon Marion Chatterley, Vice Provost, from St Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh and Fiona Stewart, Creative Director of faith-based charity, Foolproof Creative Arts, give their take on how media stereotypes can impact on our perception of religion.

How has the weight of the past two years shaped our resilience amidst all the uncertainty? Psychotherapist, Angela Trainer, and Fiona Stewart offer ideas on how to create a toolbox of resilience for yourself and your community.

Connie is joined by Scotland-based French journalist, Assa Samake-Roman, along with Angela Trainer, to review the moving new film from French filmmaker Celine Sciamma, Petite Maman. Like all good fairy tales it’s a parable that reflects on loss and the relationship between mothers and daughters.

This weekend Jewish Tales In Scotland, part of Edinburgh University’s Winter Tales Festival, will look at how Jewish immigrants came to Scotland over the last 200 years, bringing with them their faith, their food and their music. Event organisers, Hannah Hotschneider and Phil Alexander tell Connie how they are bringing Scottish Jewish history to life.
