Chelsea strikes a deal and Ruth feels bogged down.

When Jazzer learns Chelsea’s doing hair and make up for The Ambridge Mystery Plays he takes the opportunity to suggest Chelsea hangs out with Mia. When she refuses he points out she could really help with Mia’s shyness. He agrees to pay Chelsea £30 to get her to agree. Meanwhile, Will tries to persuade Mia to be a friend to Chelsea. Mia’s reluctant and strikes a deal to talk to Chelsea in return for Will buying her a book.
Josh and Ruth assess the outwintering dairy cows. They seem well but the field is getting muddy. Josh updates Ruth about the archaeological assessment that has to be done before they plant any trees. They’re joined by Lynda, on Mystery Plays business, who is shocked by the muddiness of the cows. Ruth explains that the herd is perfectly fine. Lynda heads off but not before demanding that some plastic bale wrapping is removed from the hedge.
At rehearsal, Mia makes Chelsea a tea and questions her ethics around make-up. This ruffles Chelsea who then splutters on her tea which Mia’s made with oat milk. When Will’s around the two teenagers act like all is well between them. Will reports to Jazzer that their plans to get them to be friends is working. Meanwhile, Mia and Chelsea snap at one another but then fix smiles when they see Will and Jazzer looking over. They both want the reward they’ve each negotiated, and they can’t believe how easily Jazzer and Will have been fooled. At last, something they agree on.
