Tony lends his shoulder, and Eddie has a brainwave.

Tony chats with Jennifer. She apologises for her curtness yesterday. She explains she’d spoken to Ruairi and found he didn’t want to see her. He’d been perfectly polite but it was like talking to a stranger. She feels she’s lost him, and there’s a faultline between them she doesn’t feel with her other children. Tony comforts her. Ruairi will come back in time. Jennifer’s grateful for his listening ear. Adam arrives with a proposition for his mother: will she accompany them to an activity centre with Xander? Jennifer thanks him for trying distract her with an event, but Adam insists the request has come from Xander himself. Delighted Jennifer declares she’d very much like to go.
Eddie’s sorry to mess Oliver around by cancelling his vows renewal at Grey Gables. Secretly relieved Oliver is fine with it. He has bigger fish to fry in the shape of Lynda wanting to turn the ballroom into Pilate’s Governor’s palace. Eddie counsels him not to say yes to anything. Mia arrives, commenting she’s had a hard time from Lynda at rehearsals. Oliver agrees that now Lynda’s God, things won’t get any easier. They turn over ideas for an alternative venue for the vows, and eventually Eddie comes up with the cider shed. It’ll need tarting up and a good clean, but the verdict is that it’s a genius idea. Mia’s confident they can make it the perfect, romantic venue. Eddie hopes so. He wants to put a smile on Clarrie’s face; he needs to get this right.
