Forgotten, unseen, invisible, just some of the words used to describe the army of unpaid carers around the world who look after loved ones in need. In the United States alone it is estimated that more than 50 million people (about twice the population of Texas) serve as unpaid caregivers. And those caregivers are missing out on at least $28.9 billion a year in wages as they take unpaid leave to support those closest to them. So, what can businesses do to help? We've been speaking to Anthony Fitzpatrick - Head of Employment Policy at the global insurance giant Aviva and John Schall - Chief Executive of the US Caregiver Action Network to find out.
And from covid to carbon, the aviation industry is facing some strong headwinds. We speak to the Director General of the International Air Transport Association, Willie Walsh, about getting airlines through these turbulent times.
