Funeral Costs, Boden Boss, Halloween Scare Attractions

Funeral homes not complying with a legal order over prices.
Boden warning over sweatpants.
Would you pay to be chased down dark corridors by zombies and ghouls this Halloween?

One of the biggest changes in the history of the funeral industry came in four months ago. The Competition and Markets Authority ordered all funeral companies to display a price list clearly, in the window, inside their branches and online. They had until a month ago to do that. But an investigation by You and Yours has found that many funeral firms have missed the deadline to comply, despite the threat of prosecution. We speak to Jon Levett from the National Association of Funeral Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔs, a trade body with more than 4,000 members, and Teresa Samuel from Yeovil in Somerset, who got into debt paying for her brother's funeral after he died suddenly.

A lot of us climbed into a set of leisurewear in the lockdowns and we don't seem to have climbed out of it yet. Sales of clothes and shoes fell sharply last year and they haven't picked up as much as the retailers had hoped. We speak to Johnnie Boden, the founder of the clothing company Boden, about the impact on the industry, if we stay in our sweatpants and don't start shopping again soon for smarter clothes.

With Halloween fast approaching, we take a look at the growing popularity of scare attractions, where people pay money to be chased down dark corridors by zombies and ghouls. Gone are the days when we might have been satisfied with apple bobbing and carving a pumpkin. Now there are elaborate fancy dress parties to attend and a huge variety of scare-fests across the country. Our reporter Bob Walker tries one out at the National Forest Adventure Farm near Burton upon Trent in Staffordshire.
