We celebrate See Hear’s 40th anniversary. Memnos Costi takes a look into deaf history, and previous programme presenters share their memories. There is also a special Switch reunion.
Yvonne and Julian celebrate 40 years of deaf broadcasting at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. Memnos Costi takes us on a trip down memory lane, looking back at old technology and the development of British Sign Language.
To mark this milestone, some of the former presenters of See Hear, which first hit the screen in October 1981, share their memories of working on the groundbreaking series for the deaf community. Martin Colville presented the very first episode and was closely followed in 1982 by Paddy Ladd. With former presenters Lara Crooks and Radha Starr, they chat about the changes that they saw during their time on the programme.
Fast forward 40 years and Yvonne brings the classic dessert trifle into the 21st century with a vegan twist.
And finally, also celebrating its 20th anniversary is the groundbreaking deaf soap opera Switch, which aired in the early noughties. To mark the
occasion there is a reunion of some very special guests looking back at the drama series.
