Mark presents a feast of great music for breakfast and chats to dance-pop trio Saint Etienne about their latest album.
Mark Radcliffe presents solo, with a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast
Todayβs guests are Sarah Cracknell, Pete Wiggs and Bob Stanley of London-based dance-pop trio Saint Etienne. Thirty years on from their breakthrough debut album βFoxbase Alphaβ which included the hit single βOnly Love Can Break Your Heartβ, the band have released their tenth studio album. Titled βIβve Been Trying To Tell You,β the new record was made mostly from samples and sounds drawn from the years 1997-2001. The album also has an accompanying film directed by acclaimed photographer and film-make Alasdair McLellan.
Also on the show, catch up on the best music and entertainment stories of the past week in βThis Week In Musicβ with Clare Crane.
Plus... regular features 'The Chain' - our world-famous list of over 8000 interconnected songs - and 'Sampled Underfoot' which explores the samples used in some of our favourite tracks.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
