Bernadine won the feted prize for literature aged 60, the first time a Black woman had received the honour. Three decades earlier she'd written a note to herself, declaring she would one day win it. At the start of this year's Black History Month, this change-maker tells Kate and Jason about her work ethic, the challenges she has overcome and where she finds her positivity, as discussed in her new book 'Manifesto: On Never Giving Up'
