Alice Dearing makes history as the first black female swimmer to compete for Great Britain at an Olympics. The Birmingham-born Loughborough student says her target is a top-10 finish. The Netherlands' Sharon van Rouwendaal is the defending champion, Rachele Bruni of Italy was the Rio silver medallist and Xin Xin is China’s first open water world champion. The USA’s Haley Anderson is the silver medallist from London 2012 - where she missed out on gold by four-tenths of a second - and also won silver at the last World Championships.
